DISTRICT STRATEGIC PLANNING
Mansfield City Schools is reaching out to all community members to help the district develop a strategic plan for the future that will set priorities, focus energy and resources, strengthen operations, and ensure that employees and stakeholders are working toward common goals.
This process, expected to be complete by late summer, will ensure the community and school officials can establish agreement around intended outcomes, and assess and adjust the organization’s direction in response to an ever changing environment that puts children and student learning at the center.
The district has developed a Strategic Planning Team to lead this work, composed of the District Administration Team and the School Board, in partnership with an outside group of former superintendents, EPIC Impact Education Group.
“When I addressed our teachers and administrators at the opening staff convocation in August I urged them to be sure that they have a solid educational blueprint, a plan that will guide their instruction in the year ahead,” Superintendent Stan Jefferson said. “On a larger scale, a strategic plan will be a blueprint for our district to follow toward greater success on a wide range of topics, including steadily improving academic achievement, conducive learning environments in every building and the most efficient use of facilities.”
Community input is essential to the process. Parents and community members are encouraged and invited to become involved in this process. A survey seeking opinions and priorities from everyone in the community is available, and will be open February 1. Access it here. There will also be both invited and open-invitation focus groups at various locations. Dates, times, and locations are available on the district website: mansfieldschools.org/StrategicPlanning.
Check this webpage often for more information on focus groups, a community-wide survey opportunity, and drafts of the plan.
