PRINCIPALS

Principal- Mr. Hager

Ty-for Tygers! This is my 22nd  year in the Mansfield City Schools District, where I have served as a teacher (13 years) and as a principal (9 years).  I am also a proud graduate of Mansfield Senior High (1994) and The Ohio State University (1999).  My wife is a social studies teacher at Pioneer Career and Technology Center, and we have two children. My favorite past-times are watching Tyger football, the Buckeyes, Browns, Cavs, and Indians! Looking forward to another great year at Malabar!

SECRETARIES
Secretary- Mrs. Jarrell

Hi, I’m Kathy Jarrell. I have worked in the Mansfield City School district since 1997. I started as a ParaProfessional at Hedges School. I am now a secretary at Malabar Intermediate School.

I was born in Houston, Texas and grew up in Lake Charles, Louisiana. I graduated in 1976 from Mansfield Senior High School. I only attended there for 6 months. I went to Lexington Schools prior to that.

In my free time I like reading, gardening, and spending time with my 9 grandchildren.

I love to laugh, and have fun with them.

Secretary- Ms. Beasley
Hi everyone!  My name is Sarah Beasley and I am one of the three secretaries at Malabar.  I have been with the Mansfield City Schools for 15 years.  I started as a special education paraprofessional and three years ago decided I was ready for a change and that's when I started working in the office.  I am a proud 2003 graduate of Mansfield Senior High.  You may know several of my family members.  My mom, Jackie Beasley, is a special education paraprofessional at Sherman.  My two older brothers are in the district as well.  Kris Beasley is the current Dean of Students at Senior High and my other brother, John, is a Physical Education teacher at Malabar.  I have loved being part of the district especially working with the students and staff and Malabar.

In my free time I love spending time with my family, gardening, trying to cook, shopping and watching most sports.  Go Tygers!

GUIDANCE COUNSELORS

Guidance Counselor- Mr. Grassel

SCHOOL NURSE
School Nurse- Mrs. Prosser
My name is April Prosser and I am the school nurse at Malabar. I grew up in Mansfield and graduated from Madison in 1995. I then went onto Ashland University and played softball and received my bachelor’s degree in Public/Sports Communication with a radio/TV minor. I attended Marshall University and was the graduate assistant softball coach and received my Master’s degree in PE/Athletic Administration in 2001.

I then made a decision to go back to school and get my nursing degree from MedCentral College of Nursing’s accelerated program. I graduated with my BSN in March 2006 and started my nursing career at MedCentral on the Medical Surgical floor. I then accepted a position in the prison system at Richland Correctional Institution, where I worked for 9 years as an RN, Quality Improvement Coordinator and Nurse Supervisor. I was ready for a change and accepted the school nurse position on September 30, 2019.

I have loved my transition into school nursing and am honored to be a part of the Malabar Family.

In my spare time, I enjoy boating, traveling, the outdoors and spending time with family and friends. I have been married to my husband Bobby for 19 years and we have a 17 year old son, Brantson and a 2 year old daughter, Journey.

Nurse Assistant & Paraprofessional- Mrs. White
Hi, I’m Brenda White and I am a paraprofessional here at Malabar. I assist part time in the nurse’s clinic and serve students in a variety of classrooms and specials. I earned my associates degree from NCSC in 2004 and last summer I became a certified RBT.

This is my 21st year in the district and I love it! I worked the majority of my years at Springmill and Sherman Elementaries as a Special Education Para.  I joined the Malabar family in February of 2019. It is truly a family here and I am proud to be a member.

My husband and I are both graduates of Mansfield Senior.  We have three children who are also graduates of Mansfield Senior. In my spare time I enjoy walking, family get-togethers, and trying to keep up with my two grandchildren.
