| School Nurse- Mrs. Prosser My name is April Prosser and I am the school nurse at Malabar. I grew up in Mansfield and graduated from Madison in 1995. I then went onto Ashland University and played softball and received my bachelor’s degree in Public/Sports Communication with a radio/TV minor. I attended Marshall University and was the graduate assistant softball coach and received my Master’s degree in PE/Athletic Administration in 2001.
I then made a decision to go back to school and get my nursing degree from MedCentral College of Nursing’s accelerated program. I graduated with my BSN in March 2006 and started my nursing career at MedCentral on the Medical Surgical floor. I then accepted a position in the prison system at Richland Correctional Institution, where I worked for 9 years as an RN, Quality Improvement Coordinator and Nurse Supervisor. I was ready for a change and accepted the school nurse position on September 30, 2019. I have loved my transition into school nursing and am honored to be a part of the Malabar Family. In my spare time, I enjoy boating, traveling, the outdoors and spending time with family and friends. I have been married to my husband Bobby for 19 years and we have a 17 year old son, Brantson and a 2 year old daughter, Journey. |
| Nurse Assistant & Paraprofessional- Mrs. White Hi, I’m Brenda White and I am a paraprofessional here at Malabar. I assist part time in the nurse’s clinic and serve students in a variety of classrooms and specials. I earned my associates degree from NCSC in 2004 and last summer I became a certified RBT. This is my 21st year in the district and I love it! I worked the majority of my years at Springmill and Sherman Elementaries as a Special Education Para. I joined the Malabar family in February of 2019. It is truly a family here and I am proud to be a member.
My husband and I are both graduates of Mansfield Senior. We have three children who are also graduates of Mansfield Senior. In my spare time I enjoy walking, family get-togethers, and trying to keep up with my two grandchildren. |
