Watch as Miss Ohio reads the final adventure of The Hog Mollies

Before schools were closed on March 17, second-graders throughout Mansfield City Schools had enjoyed the monthly adventures of the Hog Mollies – Duke, Sprout, Hoppy and Harley.

The four friends are the stars of a series of books created through Ohio State University. Each book teaches a life lesson of kindness, sharing, helping each other and respect.

Superintendent Stan Jefferson brought the series to Mansfield as a way to stimulate reading interest among young students, who received their own copies of the books. District administrators and board of education members had read the books to second-grade classrooms each month since October.

Caroline Grace Williams, Miss Ohio 2019, graciously accepted an invitation by board of education member Sheryl Weber, to read the final Hog Mollies book to children online.
