Coding is
Cool, an evening summer camp for girls at Malabar Intermediate School and the
Spanish Immersion School, is set for June 25-29 on the Ohio State University campus
in Mansfield. The 5:30 to
8:30 p.m. sessions will be conducted in a state-of-the-art computer lab in
Bromfield Library and Information Commons.
Girls will
learn computer coding through a fun, interactive website, code.org. They also
will read a book provided to them, “Sasha Savvy Loves to Code,” and chat with
the author through Skype. The week will conclude with an open house where
parents and the public are invited to see what the girls have learned.
The weeklong
program is made possible through a grant from the Richland County Foundation
Women’s Fund. To register, visit go.osu.edu/codingforgirls or call
419-755-4111.
