There's still time to purchase MLK Jr. breakfast tickets, T-shirts

Tickets for the Jan. 20 Martin Luther King Jr. Day Community Breakfast will be available this week online or at Mansfield City Schools’ Raemelton administration building, 856 W. Cook Road.

Theme of the 8:30 a.m. program at Mansfield Senior High School will be “We are one community.” Dr. Austin McCoy, a 1999 Senior High graduate and current assistant professor at Auburn University, will be the keynote speaker.

Tickets, which include a buffet-style catered breakfast, are priced at $5. Purchases at Raemelton may be made from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tickets also may be purchased by going to the “online ticketing” link at the lower left side of the tygerpride.com home page. A limited number of tickets will be available at the door on Monday.

Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. is the deadline to order a special T-shirt that has been created for the breakfast.

The black shirts feature the breakfast theme – “We are one commUNITY” – on the front. The back of the T-shirt says “Mansfield City Schools #HearUsRoar.”

The shirts, produced by MVD Sports & Associates in Ashland, are priced at $7. Youth and adult sizes are available.

The shirts will be distributed at the breakfast in the Senior High commons. The purchaser’s receipt will be included in the bag with his or her shirt.
