The Sherman Third Grade Leadership Group, under the direction of advisors Linda Zakraijsek and Kevin Stone, has been meeting for about 12-15 years. Students learn about leadership skills and also buddy up with the Dayspring Assisted Living Center. We visit with the Dayspring residents for Christmas, Valentine's Day, and Easter. We also plan a picnic at the end of each school year. Here the students are coloring eggs for Easter for the Residents at Dayspring. Because of restrictions from the Corona Virus, we have had to make our visits virtual this year. Students work selling chips during the school year to raise funds for all the materials we need to share with Dayspring. Other activities include collecting food for Harmony House and purchasing gifts for Harmony House families at Christmas. This may be our last year because of the reconfiguring of the school buildings for next year. It has been a wonderful and rewarding 12-15 years for our leadership students.
