Mehock Relays’ Success an Opportunity for Growth and a New Generation

Pleasant weather ushered in the first Mehock Relays since 2019 on Saturday, April 17, 2021.

This year’s event welcomed 21 hired officials and an additional 30 volunteers to assist with management of events, setup and teardown, as well as guiding participants and spectators. Meet Director Shannon Sprang was impressed with the logistics of the day, noting that events ran smoothly - a testament to the assistance of the experienced individuals who were on-site. It is estimated that there were over 300 spectators present.

Special Board of Education Meeting, Tuesday, April 27, 2021 5:30 p.m.
The board will meet in person under social distancing protocol to provide a public participation requirement for the retire/rehire of two employees and will also vote on the resolution to approve the reduction in force (RIF). The meeting will be streamed live on the district's YouTube channel.

School Board Meeting
The Board of Education of the Mansfield City Schools will meet in a Regular meeting on Tuesday, April 20, 2021 at 5:30 p.m. The board will meet in the Lowell T. Smith boardroom in person, under social distancing guidelines. The public may view the live meeting on the district's YouTube channel.

Mehock Relays returns to Richland County
A host of volunteers, officials, parents, family, friends and communities will gather at 205 W. Cook Road on Saturday, April 17 like so many decades before for the Mehock Relays. 
Spring Testing Through May 2021

After many delays due to the effects of COVID-19, Mansfield City Schools will begin spring assessments on Wednesday, April 14, 2021. 

The district is looking forward to assessments to provide students, families, teachers and administration an academic blueprint for moving forward.
