Whether they were transporting a little metal ball through a maze, going fishing, attracting different types of metals through a water bottle, or just exploring to find out the different metals that magnets attract and which do not, second grade students in Sra. Burris' class at Spanish immersion, found this magnet lesson very attractive. In this hands-on lesson, students read about magnets and then spent some time exploring through different centers to get a deeper understanding on how magnets function when near each other and different objects.
