Students at Malabar Participate in First Day Planting at Urban Farm
The high tunnel at Malabar Intermediate’s urban farm now has spinach, swiss chard, a lettuce mix, cilantro, carrots, radishes, dill and beets seeded in beds!

Students applied their scientific inquiry, math, problem solving and collaboration skills to accomplish the first round of planting. Fellow urban farmers from The Ohio State University at Mansfield and North End Community Improvement Collaborative (NECIC) came to assist on the first planting day.

Below are pictures from throughout the whole process of setting up the urban farm. From the initial set-up to staff laying the soil and finally the students participating in first day planting.
