A meeting
for all Mansfield Senior High and middle school students who plan to
participate in fall sports – and their parents – has been set for 6 p.m. on
Wednesday, July 24, at Senior High. Interim
athletic director Laurie Romano said newly hired athletic director Kevin Porter
will attend.
Porter,
hired earlier this summer on a three-year contract, comes to Mansfield from
Janesville, Wis. He most recently served as athletic director at La Follette
High School in the Madison Metropolitan School District.
A native of
Wickliffe, Ohio, Porter has 14 years of experience in athletics administration,
including three years as the University of Akron’s assistant athletic
director/compliance officer.
Porter will
officially begin his duties in Mansfield on Aug. 1.
