Later on Thursday the program also will be accessible on WMFD’s web site under “video and audio.” A free
three-Saturday workshop designed to improve the home-to-school connection among
school staffs, parents and caregivers will begin this week.
“Building Bridges” will be from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. each week at Mansfield Senior High School.
The Oct. 13
program will be for school staff only.
On Oct. 20
parents and caregivers of students in kindergarten through high school will
share their thoughts and ideas.
Both groups
will come together for the final session on Oct. 27.
Each Saturday will feature morning refreshments, lunch and door prize drawings. Seating for the free program is limited to 100. To register, call 419-525-6400, ext. 0.
Troy Lindsey
of R. L. Promotions and Consulting in Columbus will moderate the workshop
sessions.
“Connections between teachers and parents or caregivers is essential to students’ successful education experience,” said Andrew Schiefer, principal of Mansfield Senior High’s freshman academy. “This workshop will explore how home-to-school connections can be established or improved.”
Parent
liaison Joetta Polk has been heavily involved in arranging the workshop.
“This will be a wonderful opportunity for school staff, parents and caregivers to discuss how they can work together for the benefit of students,” she said. “The atmosphere will be relaxed and welcoming.”
Polk urged
everyone to register as soon as possible to assure that they will have a seat
reserved.
