Mansfield Senior High Schools Engineering class was given the task to plan the location of a new greenhouse tunnel for the new Agriculture Program at the high school. Mr. Cramer, the Engineering teacher, likes to use real-life projects to teach Engineering and the math that goes along with it. In this project, the students found potential areas where the tunnels could be located. Once we found a large enough location, the Engineering class staked the corners of the greenhouse and used the Pythagorean Theorem to ensure the building location was square and accurate. (Pictured Below) The same students who worked on the project a year later got to see their hard work pay off as they saw the finished building.
