English Language Arts/ Social Studies- Mrs. Bemiller

Greetings fellow Tygers!  I am currently a 5th grade Language Arts and Social Studies teacher.  After earning a degree in elementary education, I began my career as a 1st grade teacher at Discovery School where I taught for 5 years.  I came to Mansfield City Schools and became a loyal Tyger in 1995. I taught 1st and 2nd grades at Newman Elementary, during which time I completed a master’s degree in education with a special focus in the area of literacy. I then went on to teach 2nd grade at Woodland Elementary and 5th grade at Brinkerhoff Elementary. That brings me to the present, which puts me at Malabar Intermediate!  This will be my 30th year teaching and I still love what I do!  Insert  Roar of the Tyger here!

I have 3 grown children and 4 grandchildren. I  love to garden, read, play the piano, ride horses, and I enjoy listening to music of all types.

Intervention Specialist- Mrs. Yoder

Hello! I am a 5th grade Intervention Specialist at Malabar. I’ve been working at Malabar since 2012. I received my undergraduate degree from Capital University in Columbus and my masters degree in special education from Mount Vernon Nazarene University. I love teaching in 5th grade. My favorite part about being a teacher is seeing a student work really hard and finally find success.

I was born here in Mansfield, Ohio. I love spending time with my parents and their big dog Maddie! I also have a younger brother who has blessed me with 2 wonderful baby nephews that I enjoy getting to spoil.

I just got married over the summer! My husband is a computer programmer. We love to go hiking and travel all over the US. Before getting married I traveled a lot too. I have been to 8 countries and 16 states here in the US. On my next trip I’m hoping to visit the American Southwest. I would love to see the Native American cliff dwellings. I’m also really excited to go to Africa for the first time to visit and work at an orphanage. My favorite thing to do at home is lay in my hammock in the garden and read a good book. Check out my website to learn more about me!
