Alaya Grose reigns as Senior High's 2017  homecoming queen

   Senior Alaya Grose was crowned Mansfield Senior High School’s 2017 Homecoming Queen this afternoon during an assembly in Pete Henry Gym.

   Ms. Grose. selected by a vote of the student body, will reign this evening as the Tygers host the Ashland Arrows at 7 p.m. at Arlin Field.

   The queen was escorted by Jornell Manns II.

   Her court includes senior attendants Shamari Allen, escorted by Aubrey Chapman; Cassidy Williams, escorted by Martin Rawls Jr. IV, and Keeley Weese, escorted by Norian Lindsay.

   Underclass attendants are junior Aby Wilcox, escorted by Perrell Cameron; sophomore Yahsneik Nixon, escorted by Joshua Lyons, and freshman Aniyah Rill, escorted by Edward Jones Jr.

   The assembly program included “Eye of the Tyger” by the Senior High choir and “The Fight Song” by the Tyger Marching Band.

   The homecoming dance will be 8-11 p.m. on Saturday in the Senior High commons. The theme will be “A Night on the Red Carpet.”
