Summer graduation, elementary open houses are tonight

   A summer commencement program and open houses at three elementary schools are on tap tonight.

   Sixteen Mansfield City Schools students have completed requirements for graduation tonight in the Mansfield Senior High School auditorium.

   The program will begin at 7:30 p.m. A cake and punch reception will follow in the Cub Room.

   Graduates include Antonio Sanderfer, Leanna MacTavish, Ciasia Mathews, Douglas Mitchell Miller, Shaquan Moore, Courtney Sand, Leann VanDyne, Donovyn Benson, Dametriche Boyd, Kevin LeLeon, Nathan Feagin Jr., Hannah Heifner, Derek Jay Henthron, Jessica Helton, Nathan Johns and Sileena Brooker.

   Prospect, Sherman and Woodland elementary schools will welcome families at open houses from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Visitors will tour the buildings and meet staff.

   Sherman’s open house will be for families of students in grades one, two and three. An open house for kindergarten families will be 6 to 7:30 p.m. on Aug. 28.

   Spanish Immersion School will have an open house from 5:30 to 7 p.m. on Sept. 25. Pre-kindergarten classes located in the Spanish Immersion School also will have open house at that time.

   Open houses at Mansfield Middle School, Mansfield Senior High School and the Hedges Campus will be 6 to7:30 p.m. on Sept. 11.

   Malabar Intermediate School will have an open house from 5:30 to 7 p.m. on Sept. 18.

   The first day of school at all buildings will be Aug. 27.
