Board of education will meet on Tuesday

A grant awarded to Malabar Intermediate School from the Richland County Foundation will be on the agenda of the Mansfield City Schools Board of Education Tuesday evening.

Foundation president Brady Groves will explain the grant at the outset of the board’s 7 p.m. meeting at the Raemelton administration building, 856 W. Cook Road.

The board also will act on Superintendent Brian Garverick’s recommendation that contracted Reading Recovery services with Ashland University be renewed. Garverick also will recommend renewal of an agreement with Ohio State University-Mansfield for integrated mathematics literacy professional development for elementary and middle school teachers.

Both agreements for the 2014-15 school year will be paid through grant funds.

The entire meeting agenda is available on the board of education page on the district’s web site, tygerpride.com.
