New administrators at work in four schools

New Mansfield City Schools administrators include Kim Johnson, Jason Douglas, Robert McQuate and, on the home page with this story, Fuzzie Davis.

   New administrators have settled into their duties at four Mansfield City Schools buildings. They include:

   -- Fuzzie Davis, assistant principal at Mansfield Senior High School.

   -- Kim Johnson, interim assistant principal at Sherman Elementary School.

   -- Jason Douglas, interim principal at the Hedges campus.

   -- Robert McQuate, assistant principal at Mansfield Middle School.

   Davis has been a fulltime district employee since 1987. Most recently a Senior High dean of students, she served in a number of previous capacities, including teacher, testing coordinator and research and evaluation specialist.

   Her education background includes Ashland, Utah State, Slippery Rock and Olivet Nazarene universities.

   Johnson, a native of Jamestown, N.Y., graduated from Edinboro University of Pennsylvania before earning her master’s degree from Ashland University.

   After teaching for two years in Hyattsville, Md., Johnson’s 15-year tenure in Mansfield City Schools has included kindergarten, first and second grades at Brinkerhoff and Sherman. She also is a certified Reading Recovery teacher and has served as a literacy coordinator and coach.

   McQuate, who earned his degree in education from Ashland University, served as a principal at Cornell Abraxas and FIRST School from 2010 to 2014 through the Mid-Ohio Educational Service Center.

   McQuate’s administrative background includes serving as principal at Hickory Grove High School in Marion (2006-2009) and principal of Ralph C. Starkey High School in Circleville (2009-2010). He was an assistant principal at Indian River School in Massillon (2010-2011).

   Douglas’ educational background includes Baldwin Wallace College and Mount Union College.

   A teacher in Mansfield City Schools since 2012, Douglas taught at Brookview Elementary in the Berea City Schools from 1998 to 2002, before serving as an elementary teacher and assistant principal in Georgia from 2002 to 2009. He was employed by Imagine Cleveland Academy in 2011 and 2012.
