Springmill Science Saturday offers hands-on fun

   The second family Science Saturday at Springmill Learning Center, 1200 Nestor Drive, will be Feb. 28 from 9:30 a.m. to 12 p.m.

   Learning gallery visits will be available for students in second grade and above, accompanied by their parents. An activity room will welcome preschoolers and first-grade students.

   Planners said gallery activities will include the opportunity to learn how to lift 100 pounds with ease, design a roller coaster track or simulate operation of the national power grid.

   Reservations for Science Saturday may be made by contacting Meg Strong at 419-525-6348, ext. 54231, or by email at [email protected]. Admission to Science Saturday is by donation.

   Springmill Learning Center is a partnership of Mansfield City Schools and The Ohio State University at Mansfield.

   Science Saturdays also are planned for March 28 and April 25.
