Mansfield City Schools will offer a free weeklong Fresh Start Kindergarten Readiness Camp Aug. 11-15 at Springmill Learning Center, 1200 Nestor Drive.
All children registered for kindergarten in MCS are welcome to participate from 9 a.m. to noon each day.
If needed, free transportation will be provided by Richland County Transit. A camp teacher will ride on the bus.
The camp will offer a variety of fun activities designed to help children begin kindergarten successfully. Development of readiness skills will include recognizing and writing their own names, learning to communicate in a group setting and following directions. Children will share ideas, answer questions and explore fun math activities.
Registration forms have been sent to the families of all children registered for kindergarten. They should be returned by July 25 in the stamped envelope provided. Those who sign up for bus service will receive route information before the camp begins.
