Open houses, first Friday two-hour delay set

School open house dates and a two-hour delay on the first Friday of each month have been announced by Superintendent Brian Garverick.

The two-hour delay will allow Tyger Time staff professional development. It will begin Sept. 5 and continue throughout the year only on the first Friday of the month. This replaces the former early-release schedule on Wednesdays.

The public is invited to a series of school open houses in August and September.

“We want to get the 2014-2015 year off to a great start by welcoming parents, grandparents and others into our schools,” Garverick said. “It will be an opportunity to meet staff and tour the buildings.”

   The open house schedule includes:

Aug. 21 – 6-7:30 p.m. Prospect, Woodland and Sherman elementary schools. Sherman’s will be for grades 1, 2 and 3.

   Aug. 28 – 6-7:30 p.m. Sherman for kindergarten only.

Sept. 11 – 6-7:30 p.m. Mansfield Middle School, Mansfield Senior High School, Alternative School.

   Sept. 18 – 5:30-7 p.m. Malabar Intermediate School.

   Sept. 25 – 5:30-7 p.m. Spanish Immersion School.

Sept. 25 – 5:30-7 p.m. Pre-kindergarten classes located in the Spanish Immersion School.
