Board of Education will interview five for vacant seek

A fifth applicant seeking to fill the vacant seat on the Mansfield City Schools Board of Education will be interviewed during a special board meeting on June 27.

Board President Renda Cline said Crystal Weese of Fairlawn Avenue sent an email letter of interest before the deadline at noon on June 16 but the email went to the wrong account. After the error was discovered late Monday the technology department confirmed that Weese’s email was received before the deadline.

Four others have applied to serve the remainder of Dina Davis’ term through Dec. 31, 2017. They are Leonarda Greter, Gary Feagin, Chauncey Bragg and LuAnn Trumpower. The board will vote on its selection after returning from executive session interviews on June 27.

Davis, who served on the board for 6 ½ years, cited the need to spend more time with her family.
