Applicants for MCS board have June 16 deadline

   The Mansfield City Schools Board of Education is seeking qualified applicants to fill the board vacancy created by this week’s resignation of Dina Davis.

   Applicants who meet eligibility requirements of the Ohio Revised Code must submit an email letter of interest to board president Renda Cline at [email protected] by noon on Thursday, June 16.

   Applicants must be:
   • a U.S. citizen
   • at least 18 years old
   • a resident of the state for at least 30 days preceding the appointment
   • a resident of the school district for at least 30 days preceding the appointment
   • registered to vote in the school district for at least 30 days preceding the appointment

   The board will meet in special session at 6 p.m. on June 27 to interview qualified applicants in executive session. At the end of executive session the board will convene publicly to announce selection of the appointed member. That person will serve the remainder of Mrs. Davis’ term through Dec. 31, 2017.

   The board’s regular monthly meeting has been changed from June 21 to June 28 at 6 p.m. The new board member will be sworn in at the outset of the meeting.

The June 27 and June 28 meetings will be at the Raemelton administration building, 856 W. Cook Road.
