It’s just about all over except for turning the tassels for Mansfield Senior High School’s Class of 2016.

The annual Class Day program Thursday afternoon set the stage for Saturday’s 10:30 a.m. commencement in Pete Henry Gym. One hundred and sixty-six graduates will be awarded diplomas.

Grace Haring received the valedictorian award from Renda Cline, president of the board of education, on Thursday. Haring will move on to Miami University where she will study psychology and neuroscience.

Thea Crowley received the salutatorian award. She will study environmental science at Lewis and Clark College in Portland, Oregon.

A host of scholarships were awarded to members of the Class of 2016. Counselors Pam Jones and Leslie Hill said a tabulation of the monetary awards will be made before commencement.

Adviser Brenda Kohli paid tribute to the senior class officers. They include Kyle Weese, president; Kiile Sayre, vice president; Taylor Barrett, secretary; Maggie Ousley, treasurer, and Mackenzie Braden, communications officer.

Weese passed the traditional gavel to Olta Taska, president of the Class of 2017.
