Mansfield FOP lodge provides ice machine for soccer program

Present for the installation of the new ice machine at the Malabar soccer complex are, from left, Mike Bammann, president of FOP Lodge 32; Jim Battisti, FOP Association president; Senior High Principal Dr. Jose Hernandez; athletic trainer Mimsy Shuck, and freshman soccer player Addyson Van Houten.

There’s a new ice machine at the Malabar soccer complex, thanks to Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 32 in Mansfield.

The lodge donated the machine, which has been installed.

The donation is an example of the community service of the local FOP unit, William J. Taylor Lodge 32, which earned it the honor of Ohio Lodge of the Year in 2014.

In a story for Richland Source, reporter Emily Dech wrote, “This honor is awarded to the lodge that excels above all others based upon the lodge’s representation of its membership, the members’ involvement in the community and the lodge’s demonstration of community service.”

Dech noted that the selection of Lodge 32 was made by a statewide committee representing more than 28,000 members from law enforcement in Ohio.
