Sixteen at Senior High inducted into National Honor Society

These Mansfield Senior High students were among 16 inducted into National Honor Society on Monday evening.

   Sixteen Mansfield Senior High students – three seniors, five juniors and eight sophomores – were inducted into National Honor Society Monday evening.

   Superintendent Brian Garverick, board of education member Sheryl Weber and Senior High Principal Dr. Jose Hernandez were among the featured speakers.

   The four pillars of NHS were explained by Senior High’s officers:

   Scholarship – Olta Toska, president

   Leadership – Faith Owens, vice president

   Service – Gabbie Swoope, treasurer

   Character – Amari Jones, secretary

   In a special note to parents in the printed program, NHS sponsor Robert Watson, a Senior High social studies teacher, said: “Thank you for all your support and hard work. Your children are the top 10 percent in the nation.”

   Newly inducted members include:

   Seniors – Cheyenne Stewart, Trinitee Jones, Summer Tedrow

   Juniors – Samantha Durfee, Christian Haney, D’Ayjon Harris, Araceli Pacheco, Tayler Pruett

   Sophomores – Aubreion Chatman, Alyssa Debo, Jared Veolp, Kennedy Rabqure, Emberly Schaub-Hurt, Kelsi Spayde, Megan Supron, Jayce Taylor
