COLLEGE APPLICATION PROCESS CHECKLIST
FOR YOUR APPLICATION:
____ Complete your portion of the application, including any essays, if applicable.
____ Make out a check, money order, or obtain a fee waiver from your guidance counselor for the application fee. Students on free or reduced lunch are eligible for fee waivers.
____ Mail your application, essays, and application fee. (OR apply online)
____ Be aware of application deadlines!
FOR YOUR TRANSCRIPT:
____Complete the Transcript Request Form from the Guidance Office.
____ Attach an envelope, addressed to the college you are applying to, and put two stamps on the envelope.
____ Give the Transcript Request Form and the envelope to your Guidance Counselor.
____ Your counselor will send the transcript, school profile, letter of recommendation (if requested) and copies of current senior grades to your college.
Counselors need at least THREE SCHOOL DAYS to complete transcript requests and letters of recommendation. Transcripts take time to update, and our counselors pride themselves in writing outstanding recommendations. A good recommendation takes time to write.
OFFICIAL TRANSCRIPTS CANNOT BE GIVEN TO STUDENTS. In the eyes of the colleges and scholarship committees, once a transcript is in the student’s hands, it is no longer official.
